Oven Grilled Cheese with Apples

Bake: 6 minutes • Serves: 4
1/4 cup PICS unsalted butter, softened
4 tablespoons PICS jam or PICS preserves such as apricot or orange
1 package (8 ounces) Brie or PICS Cheddar cheese, sliced
2 medium Market 32 apples or pears, halved, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup PICS powdered sugar (optional)
2 tablespoons PICS milk or water (optional)
1. Place rimmed baking pan on middle rack in oven; preheat oven to 450°. Spread 1 side of bread slices with butter; place 4 slices, butter side down, on second rimmed baking pan. Top with jam, half the cheese, apples, and remaining half the cheese and 4 bread slices, butter side up.
2. Carefully remove hot baking pan from oven and press on top of sandwiches; carefully place sandwiches between pans back on middle oven rack. Bake sandwiches 6 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.
3. In small bowl, whisk powdered sugar and milk. Serve sandwiches drizzled with powdered sugar mixture, if desired.
