Candy Apples

10 medium Granny Smith apples
3 cups PICS granulated sugar
3/4 cup PICS corn syrup
1 teaspoon red food coloring
1.Line rimmed baking pan with parchment paper; insert sticks through tops of apples.
2.Attach candy thermometer to side of medium saucepot. Add sugar, corn syrup and 1/2 cup water; cook over medium-low heat 20 minutes or until candy thermometer reaches 300°. Remove from heat; carefully stir in food coloring.
3.Dip apples into sugar mixture to coat, allowing excess to drip into saucepot; place on prepared pan. Cool apples 30 minutes or until completely hardened.
